Timing the harvest is critical. Observing trichome development and pistil coloration provides the most accurate indicators of peak cannabinoid and terpene content. Harvesting too early can result in lower potency and underdeveloped flavor, while waiting too long may increase the risk of degradation, mold, or overripe characteristics. Curing further enhances quality by allowing slow degradation of chlorophyll and redistribution of moisture within the buds. Proper curing techniques improve smoothness, flavor, and overall shelf stability. Regularly burping jars or containers helps release excess moisture and prevents mold formation, while maintaining a stable environment over several weeks enhances the final product’s characteristics.
